Matrox DSX-based Newauto Products Used For Chinese Information Display Systems at 2008 Beijing Olympic Games

Montreal, Canada – September 3, 2008 – Matrox® Video Products Group today announced that Newauto Video Technology has adopted the Matrox X.mio card, part of the Matrox DSX family of developer products, as the hardware engine for its Mariana 5D online graphics product series. Already deployed by broadcasters throughout China including China Central Television, Beijing Television, Tianjin Television, Hunan Television, and Xiamen Television, Mariana 5D is used to create and playback realtime high-quality 3D graphics for HD and SD programming. The Mariana products and technologies were used at the Beijing Olympic Games to provide Chinese information display systems.

This was the first time in the hundred-year history of the Olympic Games where on-the-spot match results and information were simultaneously displayed in English and the language of the host country. Newauto systems provided services for 32 disciplines of the Olympic Games and will provide services for 11 disciplines of the upcoming Paralympic Games. Newauto's extensive experience with the broadcast of athletic competition and a strong background of in-house research and development earned the company this opportunity of historical caliber.
